Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This is your standard chipotle style restaurant. You walk in and go to the right to and walk to the green wall by the counter to begin your order. The ingredients always seem fresh. One time I got a chicken bowl and there was a bone in it. No big deal, After showing them the bone (size of a nickel) they took it off the bill and made me another one.

We loved this place! Great place for quick Mexican food! Everything was fresh. The nachos were loaded up high and very tasty. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was very clean! Wish there was one closer to us! Will definitely go again. Highly reccomend!

Salsarita's is another in the theme of assembly line "mission-style burrito" where you pick your style (bowl, burrito, nachos, quesadilla), pick your protein, rice, beans, toppings and you're good to go. If the crew is good, the line moves very quickly. Eat in or to go, I got a burrito bowl to go with chicken and pinto beans plus hot salsa (not that hot), corn salsa, tomatoes, sour cream and cilantro. Maybe it wasn't the healthiest of possible options (they do a vegetarian option, too), but it felt good to have something that wasn't beef and wasn't fried. Filling!

I go all the time and continue to be impressed. The queso is amazing, and chips go perfectly with it!! Highly recommend Salsaritas for a quick, but delicious meal!

At first I wasn't impressed as I was on chipoyle bandwagon. But salsaritas is pretty good for what I have had. It is a little expensive but is the closest thing to chipotle without going to annapolis.

This place is awesome the good is always delicious and always fresh and the staff is awesome my son is always happy here and they are so nice to him and with him being special-needs that's a plus for me the food is just delicious I love the taco salad with shrimp and steak and just sitting here it's a quiet peaceful and clean environment

My favorite local place for a quick lunch or dinner. The food is always fresh and there's lots of options. Somehow their queso is way better than most and their ranch dressing is really good too. My favorite, taco salad in the shell with extra lettuce. It's needed to hold up to all the toppings! Update: I forgot about the Cantina Club Card. It has paid for our food more times than I can count unlike some other restaurants cards this one racks up points fast! Changing my review from 4 to 5 stars.

Had a chicken burrito and was really unimpressed. The burrito shell (wrap? tortilla? you know what I mean) was too flimsy and the filling was just ok. The chicken was nice and tender and flavored well, but that was about it. The staff was friendly and quick, but overall, the experience is really a step below Chipotle.

Maybe we just went on an off day...but my husband and I were here a few days ago around 630pm and overall were not impressed. I ordered one of their burritos covered in queso dip and my husband had a large burrito. The only moderately warm thing in the entire burrito was the chicken. The queso and rice were both ice cold and pretty unappetizing. My husband was charged extra for adding fajita veggies to his burrito as well...a meal for two was about $18! We didn't get drinks or chips or anything....In the future we will stick with Chipotle...really tasty and WARM food there for about $5 less overall than our bill at this place. Friendly staff didn't make up for the food sadly.

I have been there at least 7 times and have always had a great experience. I have to admit I always get the large bowl an go down the assembly line and get them to add all my favorite things, like steak, beans, salsa, rice etc and have always loved it and found it very filling for around $7.50. Everyone I've ever brought with me has loved it to.

Never had a bad meal here... food always seems fresh and the place is always clean. Staff is friendly, which is saying something considering most of the teenagers you run into in Calvert county. Will definitely continue to eat here!

I really used to like this place, and I made a weekend (and sometimes durung the week) habit of going here. Even more than the food, I liked how the place was run and most of the kids working there. Like so many places, the customer service got worse and worse. The employees got rude, and the good ones left for college. No biggie, I thought, they are kids. I liked the food. Then the owner one day, who makes an issue of saying hi to regulars suddenly stopped "remembering," or even acting like she was happy to see anyone. I asked her about it and was blown off. She just said, "A lot of people come through here." I didn't push it, but it bothered me so much later, I did write her a letter. NO response. The message I got? This small town restaurant owner doesn't give a damn. No wonder other reviews mention the place is getting dirty. So...I stopped going as a matter of principle. I'm helping her out with how many people "go through." I don't recomment this place based on poor management, poor service, and from what I am reading, poor maintenance. Go to 5 guys instead.

Still awesome! I ate here today because I had to show a client some homes in this area. After my showings, I had Salsaritas on the brain! I got the 2 taco combo which was only $6 - 2 tacos anyway you like them with chips and your choice of salsa or queso and a drink. PERFECT amount, GREAT price! I ordered 1 hard and 1 soft, 1 chicken, 1 beef. Fresh as always, and chips and queso portion was extreme I haven't even eaten them yet LOL.

Eww. Fresh LOOK and the sign says fresh, so I thought it would be safe to order a salad. I got the taco salad w/o the shell (so on a plate) and it was small. I asked for peppers and onions since, well, it's a salad and can I not expect toppings? It was an extra charge, so I skipped it just for the principle of the matter. Basically, my choices were salsa and corn salsa or your usual nacho toppings like olives, shredded cheese, sour cream, etc. Not fresh and not healthy. The salad dressing was from a packet and they had really crappy choices. I know quality food and I'm particular about salads because they should be healthy and fresh (including and the dressing, for SURE). I was not impressed with my son's kids pizza either. He didn't even eat it. basically 4 fried chips with some queso just in the middle that made it soggy. I moved here from CA so I was hoping this place would be like Rubios (I texted one of my old lunch buddies when I saw it, I was that excited!), but I won't go back. I completed their online survey from my receipt and gave my contact info, but nobody contacted me. I just don't understand why fresh food is so hard to come by in Calvert county.

Consistent quality, and cheap prices. I've ate at Salsaritas at least 30 times over the past couple of years and have never had a bad meal. They are consistent with their quality, at prices not far off from fast food restaurants of much less quality.
